Police need help to locate Mamelodi woman who went missing 17 years ago

Police need help in locating Sibongile Joyce Skosana (48) from Mamelodi East Phase 5, who went missing 17 years ago.

Police spokesperson Constable Penelope Khulong said Skosana was reported missing by her mother, Paulinah Skosana.

She said the mother reported that on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 when she left for work, her daughter was home.

Khulong said the night before, Skosana had told her mother that she would be going to Witbank with her son.

“When the mother returned home, Joyce had already left,” said Khulong.

However, three days later, an unknown woman called her to come and fetch her grandson in Witbank, as Skosana was nowhere to be found.

Khulong added that Paulinah arranged for her grandson to return home, but there still is no information regarding Skosana’s whereabouts.

Police said there is no waiting period to report a missing person.

Anyone with information regarding Joyce Skosana’s whereabouts is requested to call Mamelodi East SAPS on 012 815 7079 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
