Metro police nab shop owner with stolen goods

The suspect was allegedly selling goods that were stolen from a nearby reputable business.

The TMPD Sector 2 Crime Complaints Unit recently arrested a Marabastad shop owner for possessing stolen goods.

According to a statement, the suspect, an Ethiopian foreign national, had been allegedly selling goods following a tip-off received.

“The arrest came after TMPD officers received information regarding a shop that was suspected of selling goods that had been reported stolen from a reputable local business. TMPD officers visited the shop in question and caught the shop owner actively involved in the sale of stolen merchandise,” the statement read.

The suspect was promptly arrested and taken to the local police station, where he is currently being held in custody pending a court appearance.
