Let’s keep our community clean

"Voluntary work by communities to keep roads and parks clean from litter will be greatly appreciated."

I kindly ask all homeowners, owners of apartment buildings and complexes, school principals, business owners and the management of shopping malls to make an effort to pick up any litter outside their properties.

This should be done daily. Early morning and late afternoon, seven days a week.

We should also focus on the upkeep of gardens outside our own boundaries, by mowing lawns, pruning shrubs and trees to keep it tidy.

Voluntary work by communities to keep roads and parks clean from litter and weeds will be greatly appreciated.

We as human beings are responsible for a cleaner environment to benefit all. We cannot expect our municipal workers to clean up after us 24/7.

Much of the litter seen daily in our streets is made up of recyclable items. These can be used again, so recycle while you are at it.

In return we will be rewarded with a cleaner and healthier environment and give value to our properties and surroundings.

By picking up litter and disposing of it properly can also keep our homes safe from pests such as rats, cockroaches and flies.

We are all blessed with a beautiful planet called Earth and unfortunately we only have one. So take the initiative and express the importance of a cleaner environment for future generations.

Act today, not tomorrow.

Thank you,

Keith Thurley
