OPINION: The number one essential is faith
I want to make faith and a faith walk very practical. Think of a “walk of faith” as God’s favourite “channel” on your TV.

Heb.11:6 says: “But without faith, it is impossible to please Him (God), for He who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Faith is the one thing that God looks for in your life. God freely offers you grace, but you can only receive it by faith!
Ef. 2:8+9 says: “For by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
Salvation is dependent on faith and Rom. 10:10 confirms this by saying: “For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.”
These Scriptures say that you have to believe then you can do anything. And that is called faith! Your walk with God in Christ Jesus begins in faith and continues in faith. Rom. 1:17 says: “For in it (in the gospel) the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written; the just shall live by faith.”
God wants you and me to live by faith. By faith, you receive a right standing before God and then you can walk in righteousness with God, that is you can walk in right standing before God. In Christ Jesus, you have a right standing before God the Father so you can pray confident prayers and make confident requests according to God’s word.
I want to make faith and a faith walk very practical. Think of a “walk of faith” as God’s favourite “channel” on your TV. If you try and get God’s promises through any other method than through faith you’re tuned into the wrong channel. You’ve got to get your channel signal straight. Many people look for signals and signs from God but they get into trouble because they look for signals in the sense realm. Remember Faith doesn’t always make “sense”.
In Rom. 4:19-22 we read: “And not being weak in faith, he (Abraham) did not consider his own body, already dead since he was about 100-years-old and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God and being fully convinced that what the Lord had promised He was able to perform. Therefore it was accounted to him as righteousness.” By faith, Abraham, our father of faith, became a physical father and he set the faith standard of pleasing God. You and I can please God by and through faith.
