South Africa’s cricket side will look to get quick wickets against the Windies today as play is currently delayed by heavy rain. West Indies posted an overnight score of 88/2 in their second innings, trailing South Africa by just four runs.
A. B. de Villiers helped the Proteas score 421 all out as he smashed a quick fire 148 from 194 balls. The West Indies first innings score was 329, thanks to Jermaine Blackwood’s half century and Jason Holder’s late cameo. They started their second innings trailing by 92 runs after impressively bowling South Africa out just before the last session of day three.
Morne Morkel and Simon Harmer got the early wickets of Devon Smith and Kraigg Brathwaite respectively before Marlon Samuels and Leon Johnson restored the Windies innings with an unbeaten partnership of 61 runs.
A draw looks likely at the moment with rain expected to continue for the most part of the day. It will take moments of pure brilliance to dismantle this stubborn West Indian side in less than a day for the Proteas to seal the test series 2-0.
