Supersport striker stalks Chiefs

Grobler scored two goals against Chiefs in the MTN 8 semi-final after coming back from injury.

Supersport United striker Bradley Grobler is positive about his side’s chances of progress into the MTN 8 final.

The 30-year-old recently returned from injury after side-lined for months due to injury and scored two goals in the first leg the semifinal against Kaizer Chiefs last Sunday and was eager to deliver the knockout punch on Saturday when the two sides meet in the second leg at FNB stadium.

His performance last Sunday earned the striker a man of the match accolade.

“We do not want to concede goals at home – unfortunately, we have. We came in the second half and we weren’t switched on. It is something we pride ourselves on… in critical phases being sharp and ready,” Grobler told Supersport TV after the final whistle.

“It has been a slow road getting back. It is always difficult for a striker to get your first goal. I was very happy to have helped the team and got the goals.”

He has scored four goals in his last five official meetings against Chiefs and five more against their rivals Orlando Pirates, meaning Grobler has scored a total of 10 against the two Soweto giants.
