SPORT: LaLiga rivals play to draw
"I think we could have done better in the second half to avoid the draw."
Cry 11 and Baccadi FC played to a 2-all draw in the LaLiga league game at Phillip Stadium in Soshanguve on Sunday.
Cry 11 of Soshanguve sit fifth in the table and Baccadi of Ga-Rankuwa second.
The home side dominated the first half and Baba Khetsi converted this dominance early with his first goal then completed his brace late in the half to take the game into the break at 2-0.
Baccadi came back with a new strategy playing long balls down the channels which Cry 11 battled to cope with.
In fact, both their goals demonstrated just how successful this plan was.
Baccadi coach, Tebogo Legodi said he was happy for the comeback.
“It was a game of two halves and our plan B paid off. I am happy with the point…it is better than nothing,” said Legodi.
Cry 11 captain Mushi Mabusela said “this was a tough game especially in the second half and a draw feels like taking one step backwards”.
Baccadi captain Makgwabone Dilocotlhe said the game was frustrating.
“They dominated us in the middle and during the break the coach beefed up our midfield. I was hoping for a win so badly.”
Cry 11 coach Edward Makitui said his team was capable of better.
“I am very proud of my team even though I think we could have done better in the second half to avoid the draw. My defence lacked in the second half and that too led to Baccadi equalising,” said Makitui.
