SPORT: Partnership helps budding cricket stars
The programme continues to allow young boys and girls to engage in teamwork as well as understand the importance of discipline, teamwork, tolerance and fair play.
KFC mini-cricket has joined the exciting inaugural Mzansi Super League (MSL) as a sponsor of the tournament’s ball boys and girls.
On Sunday, Soshanguve Cricket Club KFC mini-cricket players had an opportunity to get active on the boundaries at an MSL match between the Tshwane Spartans and the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants.
The children will be part of the tournament until its conclusion on 16 December 2018.

“Through this partnership [with MSL], KFC reinforces its commitment to providing platforms which bring KFC mini-cricket kids closer to their cricketing heroes through its KFC mini-cricket programme and by introducing young boys and girls to the game, now on a global stage.
KFC public affairs director Thabisa Mkhwanazi said the tournament would keep children active.
“We are excited to be part of the Mzansi Super League as the KFC mini-cricket kids will get the opportunity to step up to the crease and represent the programme in South Africa and beyond,” he said.
“Through this, we hope the kids will continue to enjoy getting active and learn key cricketing and life skills from their local and international heroes battling it out on the field.”
Mkhwanazi urged the children to use this experience to make new friends and said he hoped they would create memories that last long afterwards.

Cricket South Africa CEO Thabang Moroe said: “We are thrilled to have KFC on board to join our roster of sponsors, who have all committed to helping us take Mzansi T20 to the world through the game of cricket.”
Recently KFC ran a national competition where three winning schools received an opportunity to join their cricketing heroes on their official KFC T20 international series against Zimbabwe.
During this once-in-a-lifetime experience, the KFC mini-cricket kids had the opportunity to rub shoulders with their Protea heroes.

KFC mini-cricket remains one of the best sports development programmes in the world and continues to be an empowering opportunity for the children through their engagement and meeting with their Proteas’ heroes.
