SPORT: Tshwane Spartans youngster called to Proteas
Lutho Sipamla made his name in last year's Mzansi Super League where he finished as the leading wicket-taker.
Tshwane Spartans and Warriors bowler Lutho Sipamla has been called-up to the national team this week.
The 20-year-old fast bowler was named in the three-match KFC T20 International Series team against Pakistan.
He made his name in last year’s Mzansi Super League (MSL) where he finished as the leading wicket-taker.

Asked then if he wanted to play for the Proteas, Sipamla said he was working towards the goal of representing his country.
“I don’t put a set time or set date on when I want to play for the Proteas but I do know that I want to play for them one day,” said Sipamla.
“Even if it takes me five years or six, it doesn’t matter, my main aim is to play for the Proteas.”
Proteas selection convenor Linda Zondi said he was pleased with the rookie’s performance in the inaugural MSL.
“Lutho made a very good impression in the MSL, which is making a big contribution to our talent pipeline in helping to bridge the gap between franchise and international cricket,” said Zondi.
“Rassie van der Dussen, Beuran and Reeza Hendricks, Lutho Sipamla, Gihahn Cloete and Anrich Nortje were all standout players in the MSL and it is already reaping rich dividends for the future of South African cricket.”
The Proteas kickoff their three T20 internationals against Pakistan this Friday.
