SPORT: SuperSport hoping PSL break will help them recover
Star striker Bradley Grobler and defender Clayton Daniels had minor injuries before the FIFA break, but are expected to recover in time ahead of the Tshwane Derby next Sunday.
SuperSport United coach Kaitano Tembo has welcomed the international break which will see his team out of action for two weeks.
The 48-year-old mentor hopes this break will allow his injured players to recuperate.
Star striker Bradley Grobler and defender Clayton Daniels had minor injuries before the FIFA break, but are expected to recover in time ahead of the Tshwane Derby next Sunday.
“We had very good momentum, but at the same time I think [the break] might help us as well as we don’t have a big squad, to give us an opportunity to have our players recuperating especially Brad. You can see he is back from injury and has been playing with some pain,” Tembo told KickOff magazine.

“So [the break] will give him a bit of time to recover and rest. The same applies to Clayton [Daniels]. They are all going through pain and this will give us a little bit of time to recover and be ready for the next games, it’s big.”
United started their league campaign slowly having been beaten in the final of the MTN 8. Since their impressive win against Pirates earlier this year, the Pretoria side have picked themselves up and joined the race for the PSL title.
Their title challenge will be tested when they face Sundowns at the Lucas Moripe stadium. Although the match is scheduled for Sunday (7 April), it’s highly unlikely that the match will take place due to Sundowns CAF Champions League clash with Al Ahly the same weekend.
The Premier Soccer league has already rescheduled Pirates and Downs match to Monday so it seems like the Tshwane Derby might be rescheduled as well.
United, four points behind the log leaders Sundowns, have not won a match against their rivals in three years. They will be desperate to do so, given Downs have a lot of games.
