SPORT: SuperSport United in title chase
SuperSport United know that anything less than a win against Polokwane City on Saturday in Atteridgeville could see their title aspirations hanging by a thread.
The battle for the Absa premiership league resumes this weekend as SuperSport United take on Polokwane City.
The two teams will face-off at the Lucas Moripe stadium in Atteridgeville on Saturday evening.
The home side (SuperSport) still have an outside chance of lifting their first premiership title in nearly 10 years.
The last time they did so was back in the 2009/10 season under Gavin Hunt.
Although they are not to the favourites to win the league title this year, maximum points from their last six games could hand them the title but along the way, they have Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits to play.

In the past 10 games, SuperSport have managed to accumulate 17 points from a possible 30 which has seen them recover somewhat following a slow start to the season.
They trail log leaders Orlando Pirates by five points but have a game in hand.
A win against the high-flying Polokwane City would see Matsatsantsa jump into third position ahead of the Tshwane derby which is next week Wednesday.
Both teams will feel that anything less than a win will definitely see their chance for silverware this season all but over.
SuperSport will be boosted by the news that their captain Dean Furman has opted to renew his current contract which expires at the end of the current season.
According to The Citizen, the 30-year-old midfielder has opted to sign a new one-year contract and will remain at the club until 2020.
