The new face of TuksTennis
TuksTennis had a facelift and they will try to achieve even more successful than in the past.
Over the past few years, tennis coaching has drastically changed to a complicated trade where the latest scientific methods are needed.
Those who do not keep up with these methods will not succeed in this tough competitive sport. Keeping in step with the best in the world, TuksTennis has restructured to provide a wider base of tennis services.
More highly qualified coaches have come on board to lead their different programmes and provide the players with more opportunities. As technical director, Kobus Botha is the head of the programme.
His coaching experience at all levels and his track record of producing top international players serve as valuable assets, missed by so many other coaching centres. Andre de Beer is also on board as manager of TuksTennis and head coach of students.
His experience in the field of coaching has already made a big difference in the preparation of the student team for their intervarsity competitions. As national facilitator for Tennis South Africa and the ITF training methods he is also laying a foundation for the future of students at Tukkies with Student Coaching Education.
Prince Madema and his assistants are also on board with the HPC High School and High Performance Tennis Academy. They are well-known coaches in Africa through their coaching and management of the previous International Tennis Federation centre. On this basis the future academy program will become the top all-inclusive programme in Africa. Added to the coaches is the bio kinetic and physical expert Kristy Querl.
She specializes in tennis and working with a lot of South Africa fed cup and top players. Kelwin de Wet returned to TuksTennis after nine years in America where he picked up valuable experience to run the excellence and junior programme as head coach. Players from outside schools and home schooling participate in this programme.
TuksTennis also has a High Performance Pro programme for players considering a career in tennis. Most of these players are currently playing in international events. When at home they train fulltime at TuksTennis to ensure that they develop and work on all aspects of a tennis player, be it technical, tactical, physical or mental. All ages and levels are catered for.
TuksTennis also has an adult programme. Interested tennis players can contact TuksTennis directly at 012-420-6083 or by email: tukstennis@up.ac.za
