Young local tennis star invited on tour to Kenya
A young emerging tennis star from Pretoria will soon get the opportunity to tour to East Africa with the ITF.
South African junior tennis player Sipho Montsi of Pretoria has been invited to join the International Tennis Federation and the Grand Slam Development Fund (ITF/GSDF) Touring team to East Africa on tour in Kenya.
The team will compete in a series of junior tournaments from 20 November – 05 December 2015 in Nairobi, Kenya.
The team is part of the ITF Development Programme, which is financed by the ITF and the Grand Slam Development Fund (GSDF).
As part of the invitation Montsi will receive a grant towards his travel expenses from the ITF Development Programme financed by the ITF and the Grand Slam Development Fund (GSDF).
Gavin Crookes, President and Acting CEO of Tennis South Africa congratulated Sipho Montsi with his achievement.
“This is due recognition for one of South Africa’s up and coming junior stars and suitable reward for his dedication to and many hours of hard training. The exposure that Sipho will receive to top class international tennis on this tour will undoubtedly assist in raising his game to new levels which in turn bodes well for his tennis career. We wish him well and assure him of our support”, said Crookes.
