Sport Highlights, 1-3 April
Rugby, cricket and soccer are the major team sports on this weekend’s menu for South Africa sports lovers.

Two local sports teams, the Titans cricket team and the Tuks Varsity Cup rugby team can each get one step closer to a major trophy this weekend.
Rugby
With the Stormers and the Sharks enjoying a bye this weekend, only four SA SupeRugby teams will be in action.
The Bulls and Cheetahs will be involved in the only local derby. This game starts at 19:10 on Saturday and will be played at Loftus Versfeld.
* On Monday, 4 April Tukkies will play against log leaders, Maties, in the second semi-final of this year’s Varsity Cup tournament. The game will be played at the Danie Craven Stadium in Stellenbosch and kick-off time is at 19:00.
Athletics
The Kosmosdal athletic club will present their annual Kosmosdal road cace in the south of Centurion this weekend. The race will start and end at the Kosmosdal Checkers shopping centre in Rietspruit Road, Kosmosdal. This is a relaxing event especially for those who did run in the Two Oceans the past weekend. Athletes have a choice between an 8km race or a 5km fun run. Both races will start at 06:30.
Enquiries: Patrick Sokhela on 073-473-5999.
* As for track and field athletics, the 2016 SA sub-youth, youth, junior & under 23 track and field championships will be held from 31 March to 2 April 2016 at Germiston Stadium, Ekurhuleni.
Cricket
The local cricket season is two weeks away from winding down with only two rounds of matches remaining in the current Sunfoil four-day series. The Titans are in a strong position at the top of the log. They are probably only one victory away from winning this trophy. This weekend is also the last time Titans fans can see the team in action. They play their final home game from Thursday, March 31, against the Highveld Lions at SuperSport Park in Centurion. Play will start at 10:00 daily.
* Although the Proteas could not even qualify for the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup in India, there will definitely be local cricket lovers who want to watch the final of this tournament on Sunday, April 2. This game starts at 15:30 (SA time) on Sunday.
Soccer
This weekend it is time again for soccer games in the Nedbank Cup, a domestic league where first division teams get the opportunity to play against the top teams in the Premier league.
On Saturday Mamelodi Sundowns will play against Mbombela United in the Lucas Moripe Stadium, Atteridgeville. This game will start at 20:15.
The other two local teams, SuperSport United and AmaTuks will play in a local Pretoria derby on Tuesday, 5 April, also at the Lucas Moripe Stadium. This game starts at 19:30.
