Elarduspark tennis club again competes in national club tournament
After the two Wild Card participants were determined, Tennis SA announced the names of the 16 clubs that will compete in the upcoming Growthpoint Top Guns national tennis tournament.
Elarduspark tennis club will again be the representative of Tennis Gauteng North at the forthcoming Growthpoint Top Guns National final which will be held at Sun City Resort in the North West Province from 22 to 25 February 2018.
After determining the two clubs that will be part of the tournament as Wildcard entries, Tennis SA announced the names of the 16 participating clubs.
Old Mutual Tennis Club from Cape Town and Polokwane Sunday League Club in Limpopo have been handed wild-cards into the tournament.
Both wild card clubs are from historically under-served communities and have made significant strides within their provinces. As a result, Tennis South Africa (TSA) has rewarded their efforts with invitations into the final, where they will be competing against the 14 regional club winners.
The Growthpoint Top Guns is a doubles team format with two men and two women making up a team.
The winners of the national final earn R30 000 for their club, as well as a further R30 000 to be divided amongst the players. The losing finalists will take home R10 000 for their club, as well as a further R10 000 to be divided amongst players.
The teams competing in the Growthpoint Top Guns national final are as follows:

Cape Town (Western Province): Camps Bay Tennis Club
Eden: George Tennis Club
Eastern Province: Cradock Tennis Club
Free State: Kovsies (University of Free State) Tennis Club
Gauteng Central: Marks Park Tennis Club
Gauteng East: Parkrand Tennis Club
Gauteng North: Elarduspark Tennis Club
KZN: Brighton Tennis Club
Limpopo: Aces – Polokwane Tennis Club
Mpumalanga: Nelspruit Tennis Club
North West: Klerksdorp Tennis Club
Northern Cape: Park Tennis Club
Winelands: Kuilsrivier Tennis Club
WILD CARD – Old Mutual Tennis Club
WILD CARD – Polokwane Sunday League Club.
