Veteran cyclist from Pretoria wins Cycle4Cancer race

Cherise Willeit from Pretoria won the women’s race at the Bestmed Cycle4CANSA road race at Sun City.

The experienced Cherise Willeit from Pretoria won the women’s race at the past weekend’s Bestmed Cycle4CANSA road race at Sun City in North West.

Her experience shone through when she easily got the better of a small escape group in a dash for the line.

The race was unfortunately disrupted after a group of cyclists were struck from behind by a minibus. Several cyclists were injured and one of them, Wicus Kotze, an executive at Bestmed Medical Scheme, is still in a critical condition in hospital after a group of cyclists were struck from behind by a minibus at the event.
