Titans top of the log in 4-Day Franchise Series
After a good start last week against the Cape Cobras, the Titans finally had to bite the bullet to save their four-day match in Benoni with an undecided result.

Despite superb bowling from Corbin Bosch and Tshepo Moreki, the Titans failed to beat the Cape Cobras at Willowmoore Park in a 4-Day Franchise Series match in Benoni last week.
Although Grant Thomson and his men were in a strong position against the Capetonians after the first two days, they eventually had to desperately try to survive on the last day at the crease to enforce an undecided result.
Bosch’s figures of 5 wickets for 69 runs in 21 overs helped the Titans to dismiss the Cobras in their first innings for 338 runs.
Thanks to tons by Farhaan Behardien (140) and Wesley Marshall (109) the Titans scored 472 runs in their first innings for a reasonable lead of 134.
Moreki’s 4/21 and Niel Brand’s 3/18 helped to bowl the Cobras all out for 348 in their second innings.
Although the Titans had to score only 214 in their second innings to win the game, the little time at their disposal would always have been a factor.
The home team probably tried to stay positive and to chase the target, but it almost turned into a disaster for them as the Cobras bowlers started with a furious attack.
The Titans finally found themselves on a shaky 89/6 when the overs mercifully ran out and the umpires had to end the game.
It was an incredible final day effort by the Cobras, who were looking to bounce back from defeat in the opening round and ended up by claiming what will certainly be a morale-boosting draw.
This draw and their good win in the first game of the season against the Dolphins enabled the Titans to enter the third round as leaders on the log in the 4-Day Franchise Series. They will travel to Port Elizabeth this week for their third game of the season against the Warriors.
