Entries open for the 2022 Thirsti AfricanX Trailrun series

After two years of uncertainty about participation and competitions that had to be cancelled, the organizers of the Thirsti AfricanX Trailrun events hope that things will get better in 2022.

The 2022 adventure calendar has received a welcomed boost with the announcement that the Thirsti AfricanX Trailrun 2-Day Xplore will take place at Van Gaalen Cheese Farm just outside Hartbeespoort near Pretoria on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 August 2022.

The first event in this series, the Thirsti AfricanX Trailrun 3-Day Stage Race at Houw Hoek Hotel in the Western Cape, will take place from Saturday 19 to Monday 21 March 2022.

Entries are already open for both this exiting events.

Synonymous with magnificent trails, spectacular views, mouth-watering food, a relaxed atmosphere and great vibe, the Thirsti AfricanX Trailrun series of events will treat entrants from across the country to a trail running experience like no other.

“Whether a seasoned trail runner or newcomer to the sport, participants are guaranteed to be left in awe of the sensational routes on offer,” said Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and founder of the series.

Irrespective of the event or distance entered, the trail running community can look forward to experiencing trail running at its best.

“We are excited to be back on the trails in 2022 and can’t wait to welcome trail runners to the start line, ready to let nature give you a run for your money,” Meyer remarked.

Michelle Lillico, Head of Marketing at Thirsti said they are thrilled to continue their sponsorship of the Thirsti AfricanX series of events in 2022.
