Garsfontein cricketer dominates in top tournament
A young schoolboy from Garsfontein recently seized his opportunity to play in a top cricket league for juniors with both hands and he was finally honoured with a prestigious award.
A young cricketer from Hoërskool Garsfontein recently received the honour of being named Man of the Series following a newly established short format u.15 cricket tournament.
The Lenasia Premier League (LPL) cricket tournament, is an event for which the organizers are using a similar system to the Indian Premier League.
It’s like a premier short format league (16/16 over games) in Gauteng consisting of 8 franchises. Before the league starts, players are drafted and/or auctioned.

The 15-year-old Logan Weetman seized his chances in this tournament with both hands and it was especially as a batsman, where he enjoyed huge success. He scored 315 runs at an average of 45. His strike rate was 138.
After the tournament he was awarded Man of the Series for his consistent form with the bat, especially towards the qualifying and knock out stages of the tournament. He was awarded three “Man of the match” awards during the tournament.
A great future as a cricketer is predicted for Weetman.
