People from Pretoria introduced to the Netball World Cup Trophy
The Netball World Cup, which will be presented in Cape Town from 28 July, already became a reality for the people of Pretoria last week when they were able to be part of the official World Cup Trophy Tour that spanned the length and breadth of the Tshwane Metro's borders.
Residents of Pretoria last week had the opportunity to see first-hand the impressive Netball World Cup Trophy, which will be up for grabs from 28 July this year during this spectacular tournament in Cape Town, when it was taken on a tour of the Gauteng province.
The Netball World Cup Trophy Tour made an exhilarating stop at various points in the Tshwane Metro. As a long-standing sponsor and ardent supporter of netball in South Africa, SPAR was instrumental in making this tour possible.
Cecilia Molokwane, the President of Netball South Africa took centre stage, to introduce the trophy to the people of the city on its route through the Metro. With her on the tour were two netball legends, Bongi Msomi, SPAR Protea Captain, and Vanes-Mari du Toit, SPAR Ambassador and former SPAR Protea Player.
Msomi, a celebrated leader in the netball community, shared her insights and experiences, motivating the people of Pretoria to continue supporting the sport at grassroots levels.

With her wealth of knowledge and passion for the game, Vanes-Mari du Toit further enriched the atmosphere, leaving a lasting impact on all present.
The Netball World Cup Trophy Tour embarked on a journey that commenced at the iconic Cradle of Humankind, continuing through Jacaranda FM and the offices of Netball South Africa in Arcadia, Pretoria.
This remarkable tour culminated at the Heartfelt Arena, where the Telkom Netball League is underway. The arena showcased some of the finest players who will proudly represent South Africa in the Vitality Netball World Cup in Cape Town.
As the Vitality Netball World Cup draws closer, the excitement continues to build. The memorable day will forever remain etched in the hearts of those fortunate enough to witness the trophy up close, an experience that will undoubtedly fuel their passion for netball and its bright future.
