One of the worst-kept secrets at Loftus Versfeld – that the controversial Springbok winger, Sbu Nkosi’s personal problems were never really sorted out and that the Bulls’ management was getting tired of his antics – came to a sudden conclusion on Monday afternoon.

The Blue Bulls Company (BBCo.) officially announced that they agreed to the early termination of Nkosi’s contract by mutual consent. The 27-year-old will leave the club with immediate effect.

“After a season in the capital, Nkosi’s adventure at the Bulls comes to an end with the conclusion of the 2022/23 rugby calendar, as the player looks to pursue his rugby elsewhere,” the Bulls said in a statement.

Chief Executive Officer, Edgar Rathbone said: “I would like to thank Sbu for all that he has contributed towards our campaigns during his time with us. I know that it wasn’t an easy time for him personally, but I am confident that the support we provided to him was invaluable.

“Having a Springbok winger of his calibre in our team has been a pleasure. I know that he now feels as though it is the best time to move on and we respect his wishes.”

The Bulls thanked Nkosi for the contributions he made during his time at Loftus Versfeld, and wished him well for his future endeavours.

It is not known where Nkosi will move to continue his career. However, it’s not a secret either that he also had problems with his personal discipline at his previous employer, the Sharks in Durban.
