Get that summer glow without damaging your skin

The summer holidays are around the corner. Everybody in Pretoria is preparing for a beach holiday. Consider these tips when relaxing in the sun next time.

We are nearing the December holidays at a rapid pace, and almost everyone would love to have gorgeous, glowing skin at the beach.

Unfortunately wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and skin cancer are only some of the bad effects that come with baking in the sun.

Consider these tips if you want that beautiful summer glow, and free of blemishes and spots.

– Self-tan lotion is your new best friend

Self-tanners are a sunless, inexpensive and relatively long-lasting option for a summer glow.

It is available at almost every store imaginable in Pretoria, and will not break the bank at all.

Just be careful to apply self-tan lotion exactly as the instructions explain, you do not want to end up with some awkward-looking brown marks on your legs. It will not come off after one shower.

– Get comfortable with a bronzer as part of your makeup routine

Fortunately, the right makeup has the ability to fake a flawless tan, which is where bronzer comes to the rescue.

Apply a bronzer after you have applied your moisturizer and foundation. The look will have a very natural feel, and effortless glow.

– Try spray tan

In today’s day and age, we are lucky to opt for something like a spray tan rather that lying in a tanning bed, which is just as hurtful as direct sun exposure.

Spray tans have never been on the cheap side, but at least you will still have healthy skin in 30 years.

To make yours longer lasting, be sure to exfoliate before and moisturise every day following.

– Get rid of your tanning oils

Tanning oils work by attracting and concentrating the ultraviolet rays onto the skin surface to accelerate the tanning process. This can be highly disadvantageous for your skin, due to the fact that it enhances the sun’s exposure to your skin.

– Sun screen, sun screen, sun screen

Always remember to apply sunscreen to your skin to avoid an unhealthy tan.

Getting a tan is not at all healthy, it ages the skin and if not controlled and can lead to peeling.

Rather be safe than sorry.
