Two injured in east of Pretoria

“Reports from the scene indicate that the biker collided with a stationary vehicle.”

Two people were injured in two separate accidents in the east of Pretoria on Wednesday.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said a biker sustained life-threatening injuries along Lynnwood Road opposite the University of Pretoria at 22:56.

“Reports from the scene indicate the biker collided with a stationary vehicle,” said Botha.

He said paramedics mobilised the biker’s spine and then took him to hospital.

On Wednesday afternoon, a pedestrian suffered critical injuries he was knocked down by a vehicle in Moreleta Street.

Botha said when paramedics arrived on the scene they found the 28-year-old man lying in the road.

“The patient was treated on the scene before medics transported him to hospital under the constant care of an advanced life support paramedic,” said Botha.

He said the exact details of the cause of the crash would form part of a police investigation.
