TMPD officers robbed of firearms in Pta north

“The three officers were accosted by two armed thugs who robbed them of their firearms.”

The Tshwane Metro police department condemned the armed robbery of three of its officers on Saturday evening.

The three TMPD officers, who were on duty in Mabopane Block X, were accosted by two armed thugs who robbed the officers of their firearms.

TMPD acting deputy chief Basil Nkhwashu said none of the officers were hurt, and that there are no current leads.

He said police were on the scene to start an investigation.

“It is unfortunate that this should happen to law enforcement agencies, as we help to keep communities safe,” said Nkhwashu said.

“We need the community to assist us with information to bring these criminals in.”
