Good news: all this week’s new movies start showing at Nu Metro cinemas in Pretoria two days earlier – from Wednesday, 20 March. Plus, all Nu Metro’s Pretoria cinemas (including Mamelodi) have back-up generators – escape the worries and chill with your favourite movie on the big screen even when load-shedding strikes.
Old-school magic meets the modern world in the epic fantasy adventure, The Kid Who Would Be King. Full-throttle action fans can look forward to the return of Liam Neeson in the new thriller, Cold Pursuit, packed with irreverent humour. If it’s horror you want, Escape Room is guaranteed to give you chills with some psychological thrills.
The gripping dramatic thriller Destroyer showcases Nicole Kidman in a critically acclaimed role like you’ve never seen her before – as the film follows an undercover cop infiltrating gang culture to finally reckon with the demons that destroyed her past.

Revenge is best served cold. Nels Coxman is a family man whose quiet life with his wife is upended following the mysterious death of their son. Nels’ search for justice turns into a vengeful hunt for Viking, a drug lord Nels believes is connected to the death. As, one by one, Viking’s associates “disappear”, Nels goes from upstanding citizen to ice-cold vigilante, letting nothing – and no one – get in his way.

You can’t run from yourself. Erin Bell is an LAPD detective who, as a young cop, was placed undercover with a gang in the California desert – with tragic results.
