COMPETITION: Win tickets to the Bearded Butcher opening
On 31 May 2019 the Ultimate Aim Sports Pavilion and The Bearded Butcher will officially open their doors to the public.

Ever since the media and selected guests got a glimpse of Jo Black and Albie Morkel’s brand new venue at 622 Breed Street, Montana in Pretoria on 16 May, excitement has been mounting about the grand opening, which is now only a few days away.
On 31 May, the Ultimate Aim Sports Pavilion and The Bearded Butcher will officially open doors to the public and the owners – Jo Black, Albie Morkel, Bierman Smit, Nico Liebenberg, Michael de Jongh and Wynand van Zyl – cannot wait to share this unique sports and entertainment centre with the country.
Fans obviously share this sentiment, because tickets for the grand opening – which includes dinner and a Jo Black show – were sold out only a few hours after going on sale on iTickets.
Those who were not able to buy tickets can still be a part of the excitement as the opening weekend promises loads of entertainment, competitions and opening specials.
On Saturday, 1 June, golf fanatics will put their golfing skills to the test at one of the venue’s sophisticated high-definition golf simulators and also stand a chance of winning great prizes, including a 2019 VW Polo TSI Comfort Line and golf clubs and other accessories worth R3 000. The entry fee is R100 for three shots.
At only R100 for four attempts, archery enthusiasts could also win a crossbow worth R16 995. Doors will open at 09:00 over the weekend and visitors will also be able to enjoy the most delicious selection of food and drinks at The Bearded Butcher throughout the day. The venue is also child-friendly and boasts a safe and secure playing area to keep the kids busy.
Jo Black’s show is only one of many to come, and guests can expect performances by the following artists over the next few weeks at this exclusive theatre restaurant:
7 June – Dewald Wasserfall
14 June – Appel
16 June – ADAM (Fathers day: lunchtime show 12:00)
27 June – Schalk Bezuidenhout
3 July – Spoegwolf
Shows will start at 20h30, but guests will be able to enjoy their dinner from 19:00 and bookings can be made in advance at jenny@beardedbutcher.co.za.
The Bearded Butcher will bring various art forms to the stage; from music to stage productions (with sit-down dinner) and even comedy shows. The kitchen will be manned by the well-known kykNET Kokkedoor finalist Linde Watson Graaff, who also has her own show on SABC 2 and the menu will consist of carefully selected dishes unique to the restaurant with its rustic décor.
The restaurant area will cater to those who want to enjoy a relaxing meal, while drinks and tapas platters (with a South African twist) will be served in the Tapas Bar for people wanting something a bit less formal. Exclusive VIP boxes with comfortable couches will be available upstairs. The stage will be visible from every area.
The Ultimate Aim Sports Pavilion is owned by three companies (AJAR, Ultimate Aim Group and The Bearded Butcher) with several shareholders and aside from golf and archery it boasts a shop selling golfing gear, cricket nets, pitch and putt greens, a shop with fishing gear and much more.
Hopefully it will also become a popular place for families and friends to meet up for a relaxing day. Not only because there is so much to do, but also because the friendly and hospitable environment will invite them back for more.
