More rain expected in Pretoria later today

Sections of Centurion were under water this morning following Saturday night’s storm.

Heavy rain could lead to localised flooding on Sunday afternoon going onto the evening,

SA Weather Services warned. Sections of Centurion were under water this morning following Saturday night’s heavy rains.

Tshwane Emergency Services spokesperson Roland Hendricks said people should remain cautious especially in low-lying areas.

“No serious incident or injuries have been reported thus far. Low bridges were flooded in Centurion, mainly in End and Witstinkhout streets,” he said.

The SA Weather Service said a 60% chance of showers and thundershowers was expected late this afternoon.

Weather forecaster Tokelo Chiloane said more rain was predicted throughout the week.
