Families of missing loved ones urged to contact Silverton police

A body of a man believed to be in his 40s was found floating in a river near Savannah Country estate. The cause of the man’s death is still unknown.

Silverton police have called on members of the public who have loved ones who have gone missing to contact the police station.

This comes after a body of an unidentified man was found floating in a dam near Savannah Country estate, east of Pretoria on Friday afternoon.

The man, understood to have been in his 40s, was found with multiple injuries to his head and body.

Silverton spokesperson Warrant Officer Isaac Mcunu said an inquest docket was opened for investigation.

“Once we have enough information it will be determined what the cause of death was. Nothing has been ruled out,” he said.

“The family is yet to be located, so we appeal to people who have any missing people to contact the Silverton police station.”

Anyone with information that may help the police can contact the station on 012-841-7551 or 08600-10111. Members of the public can also use the MySAPS app to make an anonymous tip-off.
