Here are 10 fish crafts for kids that are easy to make and will provide hours of entertainment.

  1. Paper Plate Fish: All you need is a paper plate, some paint, and some construction paper to make these adorable paper plate fish. Help your child paint the paper plate in their favourite fish colour, cut out some fins and a tail from construction paper, and glue them onto the plate.
  2. Handprint Fish: Help your child trace their hand onto construction paper and cut out the handprint.  Let your child decorate the handprint with markers, glitter, or stickers to make it look like a fish. Add a googly eye to complete the look.
  3. Cupcake Liner Fish: Take some colourful cupcake liners and glue them onto a piece of paper in the shape of a fish. Add some googly eyes, a mouth, and some fins, and your child’s fish is complete.
  4. Popsicle Stick Fish: Help your child glue some popsicle sticks together to form the shape of a fish. Decorate the fish with paint, markers, or stickers.
  5. Fish in a Bag: Fill a clear plastic bag with water and add some small plastic fish. Add a few drops of blue food colouring to make the water look like the ocean. Seal the bag and let your child have fun watching the fish bob in the water.
  6. Paper Fish Aquarium: Cut out some fish shapes from construction paper and glue them onto a blue piece of paper to create an aquarium. Add some pebbles from the garden and shells for a realistic look.
  7. Clothespin Fish: Help your child paint a clothespin and add some googly eyes. Cut out some fins and a tail from construction paper and glue them onto the clothespin. Clip the fish onto a piece of string and hang it up as a decoration.
  8. Fish Mobile: Cut out some fish shapes from construction paper and attach them to a piece of string. Hang the strings from a hanger or a stick to create a fun fish mobile.
  9. Fish Windsock: Help your child decorate a paper bag with paint, markers, or stickers to look like a fish. Cut some streamers from construction paper and glue them onto the bottom of the bag. Hang the windsock up and watch it dance in the wind.
  10. Clay or Playdough Fish: Let your child mould clay or playdough  into the shape of a fish. Use a toothpick or small tool to create fins and scales on the fish. Add some googly eyes. Once the fish is complete, let it dry or harden (depending on the type of clay or playdough used) and it’s ready to display. Alternatively, you can help your child make a whole underwater scene using clay or playdough. Create a seabed, seaweed, rocks, and other sea creatures. The possibilities are endless!
