R35 Road in Morgenzon claims one life and two people injured
The communications officer of the Morgenzon Police, Const Nzimande, confirmed this morning that a BMW and two trucks were involved in the accident. Const Nzimande said the motorist died on the scene.
An accident on the R35 in Morgenzon near the sharp curve this morning at about 4.15am, resulted in the death of a motorist, while a truck driver sustained minor injuries and the other was seriously injured.
Mr Muso Kubheka, DA-councillor, has been keeping a close eye on the situation since the Makhwanazi family lives nearby.
In today’s crash, the family’s property was not damaged. This road has seen its fair share of accidents.
Dating back to 2017, a sedan crashed into the yard of the Mkhwanazis, on 16 May last year a truck smashed into their house and on 22 April this year, another accident occurred.

The Standerton Advertiser sent a WhatsApp-message to the communications officer of the Lekwa Municipality, Ms Thobeka Mtshiselwa, already on 22 April regarding the dangerous conditions of the road, but no response has been received to date.
Mr Kubheka indicated earlier that the municipality is well aware of the problem.
He said that nothing came of a promise of speed humps. The newspaper will send another message to Ms Msthiselwa in connection with this morning’s accident.
