Five South African deal sites like Groupon

Despite the closure of GroupOn today, South African online shoppers can still hunt for bargain deals on other similar deal-offering websites.

In the wake of Groupon South Africa closing their operations today, November 4, meaning that it will stop offering deals on its website, South Africans may be wondering where they can access similar deals.

According to Fin24Groupon is reducing its footprint from 27 countries to 15 and a source reportedly told MyBroadband that Groupon South Africa would likely be exited. It was further reported that Groupon’s financial results for the quarter which ended September 30 showed a net loss of $35.8-million as the business model took strain.

Rest assured, there are still sites that offer similar daily deals, which offer customers products or services at low prices so long as there is a buy-in from a minimum number of people or reduced by retailers for a limited time period.
