More Festive Operation arrests

Officers patrol streets to rid area of drugs and other criminal elements.

eMBALENHLE – A festive crime operation consisting of the local police and various police units is yielding positive results.

Several suspects have been arrested and a number of stolen items were recovered since it has begun a few weeks ago.

Some of these arrests included a 32 year-old man who was arrested in connection with refuse bags containing dagga worth R80 000 that was found in a house in Extension 22 recently.

Const Vhangani Makhado, spokesman, said officers will patrol the streets to rid the are of drugs and other criminal elements.

They will conduct stop-and-search operations and general crime prevention duties.

Const Makhado urged residents to know their sector commanders and to link up with the Community Policing Forum structure.
