Ms Karen Heese, economist at Municipal IQ, said a detailed report of all the performances of the municipalities will be released soon.

“This is only partially informed by municipal performance and seeks to measure how productive individuals can be within a particular municipality, taking into account issues like local economic activity and socio-economic conditions.”

Mr Anthony Makhaya, Chief Whip of the municipality, praised the municipality during a council meeting on Wednesday, 27 November for being among the “best performing municipalities”.

He advised councillors to view the results on the home page of the Municipal IQ at www.municipaliq.co.za.

Mr Benzi Soko, chief of staff of the municipality, referred all queries about the research to Mr Henry Masango, head of Communications and Marketing.

Mr Masango said: “We have been informed by the Municipal IQ that we have been rated as the second best municipality in Mpumalanga and number 50 in the category best performing municipalities in the country.”
