Municipality promises to improve service delivery
The Govan Mbeki Municipality promised the Eendracht residents they will improve service delivery.

EENDRACHT – The municipality promised to double their efforts to better service delivery.
This was after local residents launched many complaints to the municipality about bad service delivery.
Residents complained about full septic tanks with the sewage flowing into their houses.
Water and power cuts were also a serious concern, and the rudeness of the call centre personnel is a worry.
Mr Hendry Masango, deputy director of communication and marketing of the Govan Mbeki Municipality, said: “We are in the rainy season and also the size of most of these septic tanks are small, leading to them being filled very quickly.
“However, we are doubling our efforts to get them emptied as soon as it is being reported.
“Our call centre operators are being trained to be courteous at all times as per the Batho Pele principles and the municipality’s service standards.
“However, if there are some lapses in the application of the good code of conduct by any staff member, disciplinary actions will be taken to remedy the situation.
“ We have received some disturbing trends of graves desecration at most of our graveyards, allegedly by people practising satanic rituals. A carcase of a dog hanged by its neck was discovered at a cemetery in Bethal.
“The recent fencing of some cemeteries by the municipality seem not to be a deterrent.
“It is a challenge that will need every community leader to address in whatever forums they happen to lead. ”
