Residents in Ext 7 are concerned about their safety after someone parked a bus next to a road and left it there.
According to them, the bus used to be in a better condition as compared to now.

“People are stripping the bus and sell the parts to the scrap yard for cash,” a local said.

Children play in the bus during the day.
“These children play inside this bus chasing one another and they can get hurt.
“They can get hit by a car,” a resident said.

The bus is parked next to a busy road and children usually come out of the bus running, not paying any attention to traffic.
According to locals, the bus is a safe haven for criminals at night as they sit inside the bus and smoke drugs.

“I run a tavern and my customers are not safe when they leave at night as they might be robbed,” Mr Pule Matjiu, tavern owner, said.

The community tried calling the traffic department and was told there is nothing they can do, because it is not on the road and does not interfere with traffic.
According to locals, the person who used to stay next to the stand where the bus is parked, brought the bus there.

“We don’t want this bus here,” the residents said.
