Helping Hand launches new project
“It is important for schools to invest in young Afrikaans speaking teachers.”
SECUNDA – Solidarity’s organisasion Helping Hand recently launched a new project, namely Project Teaching Assistant, where they subsidise student teachers and employ them at schools.
“With this project, these student teachers can get valuable job training,” said Helping Hand’s press liaison officer, Ms Juanita du Preez.
Helping Hand’s aim with this project is to offer a solution for overcrowded classrooms on the one hand and giving student teachers on-the-job training at the same time.
“It is important for schools to invest in young Afrikaans speaking teachers.
“We believe that we can make a difference in the lives of aspiring teachers by providing them with the best possible training,” said Mr Chris Kruger, principal of one of the schools involved in this project.
