Govan Mbeki Municipal councillors and officials mourn Madiba’s death.
Govan Mbeki Municipal councillors and officials came together to mourn the death of Mr Nelson Mandela on 6 December.
SECUNDA – Govan Mbeki Municipal councillors and officials held a short prayer meeting for the late former president Mr Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela on Friday, 6 December at the Govan Mbeki Council Chamber.
Mr Henry Masango, Govan Mbeki Municipality Communications and marketing manager, said: “It is with sadness that we have to wake up to the news about the death of Nelson “Rolihlahla Mandela, the founding President of South Africa’s democratic dispensation.
“He passed on peacefully in the company of his family around 8.50pm on 5 December 2013, aged 95.
“Govan Mbeki Local Municipal Council hereby expresses its heartfelt condolences to the family of former President Mandela.
