Gert Sibande District Municipality buys new graders
Officials will not hesitate to act harshly against any municipal officials or councillors who are found driving municipal vehicles, especially these graders, without proper authorisation.
HIGHVELD – The Gert Sibande District Municipality bought new five graders to fix badly damaged and inaccessible roads in the seven local municipalities across the district.
These municipalities are the Govan Mbeki, Albert Luthuli, Mkhondo, Msukaligwa, Lekwa, Pixley Ka Seme and Dipaleseng municipalities.
The graders were launched at the municipal office in Ermelo on 21 January and their use will be coordinated by the district municipality.
Mr Mishack Nhlabathi, executive mayor, said they will continue to support the municipalities in trying to improve the lives of residents.
Mr Vusi Shongwe, MEC for the Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, said his officials will not hesitate to act harshly against any municipal officials or councillors who are found driving municipal vehicles, especially these graders, without proper authorisation.
