Imbizo turns into municipal service complaint session

Shonngwe visits eMbalenhle to get inputs from locals on how to fight crime.

eMBALENHLE – An Imbizo that was held by the Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison at the Risko Fakude Stadium on Saturday, 22 February to address crime turned into a municipal service complain session.

People complained about the lack of RDP houses, unemployment, a lack of service in farming areas, poor roads, a lack of stands, leaking drains and the municipality not taking care of the needs of the disabled.

Not many people knew that Mr Vusi Shongwe is the MEC for the department and he was there to get their inputs for Government’s plan of action and to ultimately enhance policies on crime prevention.

Some people mistakook him for the Premier of Mpumalanga.

Ms Lindi Masina, executive mayor, told people to keep their complaints for the municipal Imbizo that will be held in the coming weekends.

Mr Shongwe, however, addressed people and encouraged them to work with the police to fight crime.
