The municipal employees were seen two weeks ago removing the tar that formed potholes.

The potholes in the road, entering town under the bridge in Walter Sisulu Drive, are worse than ever.

The municipal employees were seen two weeks ago removing the tar that formed potholes.

“I was happy seeing the municipality fixing the road,” a motorist said.

But days passed and the road was left without a large chunk of tar.

“The potholes were making it challenging to drive, but now it seems even worse.

“If they are planning to fix the roads, the least they can do is to do it as quick as possible,” another driver said.

In an article published in the Standerton Advertiser on 21 February, Mr Sipho Mkwanazi, spokesman of the Lekwa Municipality, was asked for comment and quoted as saying he will comment at a later stage.
