Be cautious when going to the dumping area

“All the sites are accessible, but the municipality is requesting the community to avoid visiting or to be co-operative and patient to instructions when visiting the sites.

SECUNDA – The Govan Mbeki Municipality warned residents to be careful when going to Secunda Dumping Site.

Mr Henry Masango, Head of Marketing and Communications at Govan Mbeki Municipality said: “During the past few days, we have experienced extremely heavy rain in our area and this has made the operations of the waste disposal sites difficult and access roads to be very wet.

“All the sites are accessible, but the municipality is requesting the community to avoid visiting or to be co-operative and patient to instructions when visiting the sites.

“Under these conditions, the municipality is trying to make the sites as accessible as possible for waste disposal.

“Once the site has dried off, the access and operations will be as normal.”
