Rugby fields need maintenance
The field is located next to a local establishment where people drink and throw bottles of beer in the field.
The Sakhile Rugby Team has expressed dissatisfaction with the Lekwa Municipality over the state of the field they use for practice.
According to Mr Mpho Lukhele, coach, they used Sakhile Stadium for practice and after it was closed, they moved to the outside stadium.
“This field is filled with bottles and large stones,” the coach said.
“We are at risk of getting injured and some of our players have suffered injuries before. They alleged the municipality is not maintaining the field with grass not being cut.

In an article published in the Standerton Ibis of 3 March, the netball players were complaining about the state of the netball courts. Another article published in the Standerton Advertiser of 21 February, Mr Sipho Mkwanazi, spokesman of the Lekwa Municipality, was quoted saying the Sakhile Stadium was still not opened because they are still in a process of finalising a maintenance plan.
