Christians pray for unity
Apostle Langton Gatsi encourages believers to overcome the spirit of stagnation.
SECUNDA – Christians braved the cold to attend the Global Day of Prayer at the Lilian Ngoyi Stadium on Sunday, 8 June.
Past Kim Perea, organiser, said the event was held on the Day of the Pentecost when the New Testament Church was born.
He was grateful to the churches that came together united to seek the face of God for divine intervention in the city, the nation, the communities, churches, families, businesses, careers and in every aspect of our lives.
“A united Church sends a strong message to the world that we serve the true living God.
“So said our Master in His prayer in John 17 and He certainly can not be wrong.”
Past Perea said this is the season that we should put aside our differences, divisions, discords, disunity and deceptive perception of one another and to honour Jesus Christ.
The organisers spent 10 days fasting and praying to prepare for the Global Day of Prayer.
“The focus was on becoming a ‘Luke 10 Christian’ and a ‘Luke 10 Church’ filled with the power of the Holy Ghost with signs, wonders and miracles following the preaching of God’s Word through the lives of every empowered believer.”
Apostle Langton Gatsi from the Impact Nations in Zimbabwe was the guest speaker and preached about overcoming a spirit of stagnation.
He said some people have come to a standstill in several areas of their lives and they need to put more energy into and be motivated on their Christian path.
