These women in Standerton urge others to take care of their health

Wilma Venter, Vihanda Steyl, Simpati Tsotetsi, Slindile Nkosi, Kiara Els and Tshepang Kibe proved that taking charge of your health is vital.

Local Lekwa councillor for the Freedom Front Plus, Wilma Venter, and party supporters proved that taking charge of your health is vital.

In the spirit of Women’s Month, Venter was joined by party members Vihanda Steyl, Simpati Tsotetsi, Slindile Nkosi, Kiara Els and Tshepang Kibe for a visit to the local municipal clinic for check-ups.

“As women, we spend so much of our time caring for others that we sometimes forget to take care of ourselves,” said Venter.

“We visited Winnifred Maboa Clinic for pap smears, because taking care of our own health should never be put last. “

Venter encouraged other women to do the same, stating that women taking care of themselves are not selfish — it is necessary.

“When women prioritise their health, they are better equipped to care for their families, their communities and the people around them.

“Make time for yourself. Make that appointment. Get that check-up. Your health matters,” concluded Venter.
