A fallen tree in Schwickard Street is a possible accident waiting to happen.
The tree, due to what looks like termite infestation, has collapsed onto another tree on municipal property.
It is only supported by a resident’s fence and the tree in the street outside the residence.
This has occurred next to a busy road and if the upright tree gives way, motorists could have a problem at hand.
The tree in question is also leaning precariously close to the power lines, which could be severed and pose a danger to pedestrians.
The fallen tree could collapse under its own weight on top of people walking by.
An e-mail was sent to Mr Sipho Mkwanazi, spokesman of the Lekwa Municipality, on 27 June with regard to the relevant by-laws and no comment was received at the time of going to press.
