The Lekwa Municipality has made a commitment to provide Ward 13 with health services once every three months.
The ward has been without health services for five years.
According to the councillor, Ms Ntombifikile Sitshoni, the community has raised concerns about the lack of health services.
The matter was also published in the Standerton Advertiser.
Ward 13 includes Platrand, Wolwespruit, De Kuilen and Erdzak, which are mostly rural communities.
Ms Sitshoni visited Platrand and the Wolwespruit community on 24 August.
“We also invited other government departments and SASSA as part of bringing services to the people,”Ms Sitshoni said.
The Department of Health, Department of Social Development, as well as the Gert Sibande district office, participated and the community attended in their numbers.
Services included regular check-ups, blood pressure screening, pap smears, HIV/Aids testing and medical male circumcision.
De Kuilen and Erdzak are next on the list and services will be brought to the community on 28 September.
