Gefsta offers bursaries
Govan Mbeki Municipality Fire and Rescue Services and Goldfields Emergency Fire Services Training Academy hold community outreach.
LEANDRA – The relation between the Govan Mbeki Municipality and Goldfields Emergency Fire Services Training Academy (Gefsta) benefits pupils.
Ms Kulumetse Moseme, CEO of Gefsta, announced that the academy will give bursaries to pupils from Kiriyatswane Secondary School, Chief Ampie Masiya Secondary School and iKhethelo Secondary School.
These will be given to three pupils from each school who perform well.
She announced this at the Gefsta and Govan Mbeki Municipal Fire and Rescue Services community outreach recently.
Gefsta is a training academy that has trained a number of fire fighters of the municipality.
It was established in 2006 by Mr Talane Moseme and Ms Kulumetse Moseme.
It aims at developing approved training products and services by means of regular training needs of existing as well as potential students and to satisfy their needs with acceptable training products and services.
Mr Freddy Nkambule, MMC for the Department of Community Services, thanked Gefsta for reaching out to the community and showing their love for the pupils and concern of pupils.
“I am happy that our relationship with Gefsta is growing and is contributing to the future of our pupils.
“Gefsta has helped us to have highly skilled and trained fire fighters.
“I encourage the pupils to work hard, especially in maths and science, so that they will qualify for these bursaries.”
Gefsta also gave soccer kits to the three schools.
