SECUNDA – Jehovah’s Witnesses invited everyone to attend their Keep Seeking First God’s Kingdom Convention that will be held in Middelburg at the end of September and beginning of October.
The Afrikaans convention will take place from 26 to 28 September at Pienaarsdam Ontspanningsoord outside Middelburg, the Zulu convention from 3 to 5 October at the Themba Senabela Stadium and the English one from 3 to 5 October at Pienaarsdam Ontspanningsoord.
It will begin at 9am.
The Jehovah’s Witnesses say all, including non-witnesses, will benefit from the positive message and practical suggestions that will be highlighted at this year’s regional convention.
“We warmly invite everyone to an encouraging Bible discourse entitled Earth’s new ruler – who really qualifies? and A world government, why do we need one?,” said one of the organisers.
Two dramatic plays will bring Bible stories and their lessons to life.
Themes of the dramatic plays are Do not give the devil and opportunity, according to Ephesians 4:27 and 1 John 4:11) and Not one word has failed, according to Joshua 23:14.
“Continuing for the next three weeks, Jehovah’s Witnesses will put forth extra effort to extend a personal invitation to everyone from around Mpumalanga, including Belfast, Devon, eMbalenhle, Evander, Kriel, Ermelo, Secunda, Nelspruit, Barberton, Sabie, Lydenburg, Kinross, Leslie, Ganala, Middelburg and eMalahleni to attend the convention with them,” said the organiser.
According to him, the daily themes and titles of the programmes are based on passages of Scripture, including Matthew 13:11, 2 Thessalonians 1:5 and Matthew 25:34.
The convention theme Keep Seeking First God’s Kingdom is based on Matthew 6:33.
The convention is free of charge and conventions of Jehovah’s Witnesses are supported entirely by voluntary donations.
Locally, all of the area’s congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses will be supporting the activity of distributing printed invitations to the convention.
An estimated 6 000 will come to Themba Senamela Stadium and Pienaarsdam Ontspanningsoord for the Bible-based programs.
