12 people killed in head on collision

Two people were seriously injured and four sustained minor injuries.

Mpumalanga Safety, Security and Liason MEC,  Vusi Shongwe sent his condolences to the families of the 12 people killed in a head on collision yesterday.

The 11 people died instantly when a truck collided head on with a taxi between Standerton and Perdekop on the R23-Road at a stop and go construction site.

“The taxi driver who at the time did not have right of way to drive in the single lane, allegedly skipped the stop and go operation and collided with the truck.”

Two people were seriously injured and four sustained minor injuries.

The taxi driver and a child were among the injured.
