Mayor, Caroline Morajane: ‘20 years not enough to fix everything after black oppression’
The Lekwa Municipality council met recently at the council chamber and made important decisions.
A heated argument broke out on 3 October between the mayor, Ms Caroline Morajane, and Mr Rosier de Ville, chief whip of the DA, about going back to basics after 20 years.
Ms Morajane felt that Mr De Ville was out of order, because according to her 20 years is not enough to fix everything after blacks were oppressed.
Mr De Ville alleged that municipal employees are always in meetings instead of serving the people.
This happened during a council meeting of the Lekwa Municipality aimed at addressing issues they currently face.
The finalising of the 2014/15 service delivery implementation plan and the performance agreement of the municipal manager and managers directly accountable to him were top of the agenda.
